Pondering the Future of All Manner of Bad

It’s been about two and a half years since I began All Manner of Bad, the webcomic. In that time I think my ability to draw and write has grown.

Which makes it a bit difficult to look back on the work I did two years ago and reread it/relook at it.

The artwork was a bit bad and the writing, although decent in some parts, seemed to wander everywhere. There was an overall arc to the stories, but when I look at it again, I believe there could be some places I could tighten it up, work on the characterizations a lot more (currently i have a fairly good idea as to who the characters are).

That brings me to the thought of going back through the first 260 strips and editing them and redrawing them all.

This, of course, isn’t just a glutton for pain kind of move, but one that’s an attempt to make a better product that will be put into a book. An All Manner of Bad comic book containing the first year of strips, but redrawn, edited, but following the same arc that the first 260 had.

So the question right now is, what do you all think of this move? Is it a bit foolish to spend another six months redrawing all the strips that I did two years ago or do you think it’s a pretty good move toward making a good product?

The thing is that I wish to eventually monetize the webcomic, but printing books, art prints, and the like.
